PREPARING YOUR PET FOR SURGERY
The days before your pet surgery can be a bit stressful for you and your pet. There are some general guidelines that can help get your pet as ready as possible, as well as alleviate your anxiety as well.

We will always call the day before the surgery to confirm that you’re still ready to go proceed, and answer any questions you may have.  We will also remind you not to feed your friend breakfast or treats, as they need an empty stomach prior to surgery.  Water of course, is fine.  Be sure to ask questions if anything is unclear as to what your pet can have.

Want a free tip that you may overlook? Empty the trash can and any other potential food source! Who knows what your pet can get up to when they’re hungry and scrounging around. Keep your pet inside to avoid any temptations.

The day of the surgery you will be asked to come in first thing for your pets admittance to our hospital.  You will be greeted by a member of our Pet Health Care Team, available to answer further questions.   Your pets treatment plan will be reviewed with you again, we will record your contact information so we can update you as soon as your pet is in the recovery station to update you on how the surgery went, and most important, we will arrange with you when you can pick your friend up.

Next, you can give your friend a kiss, a pat on the head and be assured that you’re leaving them in the absolute best of care.
